The Klinik im Hofgarten in Bad Waldsee will be using digital signage from Bütema and Wedeko going forward. Through a custom-designed digital signage concept, traditional information displays have been replaced by a centralized, flexibly controllable solution.
In hospitals in particular, information must be easy to understand, up-to-date, and available in the right place. Patients, visitors, and staff need guidance and information about procedures, room assignments, or services—often at precisely the moment when something changes at short notice.
A digital signage system was therefore developed for the Klinik im Hofgarten that specifically integrates various areas of the facility. In the reception area, central displays help visitors find their way around. In the columned hall, an indoor display provides information on recreational activities and organizational notices. Additional displays are located in common areas, the dining room, the therapy area, near the elevators, and in the waiting area, among other places.

An important component of the project is the location-based display of content. Each screen shows exactly the information relevant to that specific area. This includes weekly schedules, meal plans, room and therapy assignments, current occupancy, and last-minute changes.
This creates a digital information network that significantly simplifies day-to-day hospital operations. Content no longer needs to be exchanged manually or maintained in multiple places in analog form. Instead, it is managed centrally through Bütema AG’s content management system.

A total of nine 55-inch displays with rugged metal enclosures and two indoor stands were installed. The solution is easily expandable and allows the clinic to update content quickly.
Laura Leibinger, project manager in the Projects and Processes Department, summarizes the benefits as follows:
“In the past, information was scattered throughout display cases and often hard to navigate; much of it wasn’t even read. Today, patients know much more quickly where they need to go, which makes their entire visit easier.”

The implementation at the Klinik im Hofgarten demonstrates how digital signage solutions can deliver real added value in the healthcare sector as well. Through centralized control, a clear information architecture, and strategically placed displays, processes become more transparent, routes easier to follow, and information more readily available.
Following the successful implementation of digital signage at the Wangen Specialized Clinics, the Hofgarten Clinic—another facility within the Waldburg-Zeil Hospital Network—underwent a digital upgrade. This is a prime example of how digital signage not only looks modern but also streamlines processes and supports people in their daily lives.
