The Wellhäuser butcher shop in Ravensburg has strategically digitized its customer communications at the point of sale. In collaboration with Wedeko, a brand of Bütema AG, a digital signage concept was implemented that ensures a modern, flexible, and eye-catching presentation both on the sales floor and in the storefront window.
The Wellhäuser butcher shop faced the challenge of combining traditional quality with modern expectations regarding communication and the shopping experience.
Until now, daily specials, changing lunch menus, and product information had to be updated manually. Printed posters and traditional chalkboards were time-consuming to update and offered only limited flexibility. At the same time, the goal was to better appeal to a younger target audience and modernize the overall look and feel—without losing the business’s artisanal identity.

In collaboration with Wedeko, a customized digital signage concept was developed that takes into account the physical layout and daily sales operations.
The focus was on a solution that is easy to use, allows for quick content updates, and delivers a high-quality visual impact. Key elements include digital menu boards in the sales area and an eye-catching window display designed to attract the attention of passersby. The system is complemented by a central content management system that enables both in-house maintenance and support from Wedeko.

Digital menu boards have been installed in the sales area to clearly display daily specials, product information, and rotating lunch specials. The content has been structured to be easily understood and to support the sales process.
In addition, a storefront display has been installed that is visible even outside of business hours and effectively draws attention from the street. This expands the store’s external communication and actively engages passersby.
Content is managed through a central system that allows for quick updates. Changes can be made by the on-site team or with support from Wedeko.
The digital solution provides significantly greater flexibility in day-to-day operations. Content can be updated at any time without the additional effort required for printing or manual changes.
The visual identity appears clearly structured and contemporary, thereby enhancing the overall perception of the business. At the same time, the visual presentation supports sales pitches directly at the point of sale.
Even outside of business hours, the butcher shop remains visible and actively engages potential customers. Digital communication helps reach new target groups and better inform existing customers.
The project demonstrates how digital signage can be effectively utilized even in traditional trades. What matters most is not the size of the business, but a well-thought-out concept tailored to everyday operations.
Wedeko adapts proven approaches from the retail and hospitality sectors to smaller, owner-operated businesses, thereby creating solutions that are practical, cost-effective, and sustainable in the long term.
