In collaboration with the Wedeko brand, Bütema AG has established a scalable digital signage infrastructure for the SSP Group in the DACH region that is specifically designed to meet these requirements. Since 2020, numerous dining areas operated by the travel food specialist have been equipped with digital menu boards and information displays. The expansion of the digital signage network is ongoing. Recent projects include installations at Zurich Airport and Zurich Main Station.
Select Service Partner (Switzerland) AG is part of the international SSP Group and operates food service concepts at high-traffic transportation hubs. Well-known brands include Starbucks, Burger King, Backwerk, and Pret A Manger. In such environments, content must not only look good but, above all, be displayed flexibly, quickly, and accurately. Breakfast offers, lunch campaigns, coffee deals, or seasonal promotions can only be implemented efficiently when hardware, software, and processes work seamlessly together.


This is precisely why Bütema has developed a digital signage solution that combines centralized control, high scalability, and reliable operation. The system utilizes rugged, frameless digital signage displays as well as flexible multi-display setups for digital menu boards, information displays, and eye-catching special formats such as stretch displays. The entire digital signage system is controlled via a central content management system, which enables both cross-brand campaigns and local customizations for individual locations.
A key advantage for SSP lies in the dynamic, time-of-day-based delivery of content. Campaigns can be planned centrally, published automatically, and tailored to specific brands, locations, or times of day. This ensures that the customer experience remains up-to-date, relevant, and consistent. Especially in high-volume foodservice, this flexibility is a critical factor in streamlining processes and better leveraging revenue opportunities directly at the point of sale.
From a technical standpoint, the solution is also designed with growth in mind. New stores, additional brands, and more digital signage displays can be integrated into the existing network at any time without interrupting ongoing operations. The infrastructure now comprises approximately 490 players in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The project thus demonstrates how a digital signage network can be scaled reliably and efficiently, even in complex, international environments.


In addition to international brands such as Starbucks and Pret A Manger, other concepts have also been implemented, including Frittenwerk and L’Osteria Piccola, as well as custom-designed formats like Ida & Frida at Zurich Main Station. It is precisely this diversity that highlights the importance of digital signage software that brings together different brand identities, content requirements, and technical specifications into a single solution.
