An extensive digital signage network was implemented for Karls Tourismus GmbH, which is now in use across several theme villages. The solutions are based on hardware and software from Wedeko, a brand of Bütema AG, and enable flexible, cross-location customer communication directly at the point of sale.
Karls operates several theme villages with high-traffic retail and dining areas. Information about offers, product ranges, and promotions is communicated in a dynamic environment characterized by constantly changing content and seasonal highlights.
The goal was to find a solution that could flexibly display this content while ensuring a consistent look and feel across all locations and integrating seamlessly into existing structures. In addition, the implementation was to be designed so that installation and operation could be carried out independently.

Wedeko developed a scalable digital signage concept specifically designed for use in experiential and retail environments. The focus was on combining high-performance hardware with an intuitive software solution that makes it easy to maintain and update content.
The system is designed to be easily adapted to different locations and continuously expanded. At the same time, content management remains centralized.

As part of the project, over 100 displays were installed in the various themed villages. The focus was on menu and shop displays, which were specifically designed for use in retail and dining areas.
The displays were installed on-site by Karls' own staff. The systems are designed to be easily integrated and put into operation.

Today, the digital signage network enables flexible and timely communication of offers, products, and promotions across all locations. Content can be quickly adapted and centrally managed, while at the same time accommodating the specific needs of individual experience villages.
For Karls, this creates a modern, unified, and scalable communication structure that is effective in both retail and food service environments and can be continuously developed.
The project demonstrates how digital signage can be structured and implemented in a practical way within expansive experiential environments. The combination of a centralized system architecture and decentralized implementation enables a high degree of operational flexibility and lays the foundation for a growing network across multiple locations—similar to large-scale rollout structures in retail and the restaurant industry.
