The Carolus Thermen in Aachen has fully digitized its visitor communications. In collaboration with Wedeko, a brand of Bütema AG, a cross-location digital signage system was implemented that provides relevant information in a structured and up-to-date manner throughout the spa complex.
As a popular leisure and wellness destination, the Carolus Thermen face the challenge of providing visitors with a wealth of information about its facilities, services, and procedures.
Analog information solutions offered only limited flexibility and were unable to display dynamic content—such as events or daily updates—with the necessary speed. At the same time, the solution needed to blend seamlessly into the spa’s elegant architecture and atmosphere.

Wedeko developed a comprehensive digital signage concept for the various areas of the spa. The goal was to strategically place information points and enable centralized control of all content.
The focus was on a solution that guides visitors throughout their visit—from the entrance area through the changing rooms and pool areas to the dining and spa areas.

Central information displays have been installed in the entrance area and the pool area to help visitors find their way around and provide up-to-date information.
In addition, two more displays have been installed in the changing rooms to provide additional instructions and information. Information screens are also in use at the Carolus Spa, extending the system to other areas of the facility.
A digital menu board was installed in the bistro to display the daily menu and specials in a flexible and up-to-date manner. In addition, a digital display was installed outside the restaurant to make information visible even from outside the building.
All systems are centrally managed via the content management system. This makes it easy to maintain content, make quick updates, and deploy it across all locations.
Today, digital menu boards enable significantly more efficient and flexible communication of offerings. Content can be updated at short notice without the need for physical adjustments.
Visitors benefit from a clearly structured, easy-to-read presentation of the offerings, while at the same time the visual quality and modernity of the dining area are significantly enhanced.
For Circus Krone, this creates a system that supports daily operations and can be quickly adapted for special events.
The project demonstrates how digital signage can be strategically deployed in the food service industry to streamline processes while enhancing the presentation at the point of sale.
The combination of thoughtful planning, custom design, and centralized control exemplifies Wedeko’s approach.
