Brief description

A cross-location digital signage concept was implemented for the Anderl beverage stores, designed to engage customers as soon as they arrive outside the store and to effectively complement in-store communications. The solution combines centralized control with flexible delivery of up-to-date content.

Initial situation & challenge

Beverage stores face the challenge of clearly and quickly communicating a wide range of products and frequently changing promotions. Promotions, new products, and services must be visible—ideally even before customers enter the store.

At the same time, traditional advertising materials require a significant amount of manual effort, especially when there are multiple locations. Therefore, the company was looking for a solution that would allow for centralized control of content while also being able to adapt flexibly to local requirements.

Bütema's solution approach

Bütema AG developed a digital signage concept under its Wedeko brand that integrates both outdoor areas and key locations within the store. The goal was to provide customers with targeted information throughout their entire visit—from the parking lot to the entrance area.

The focus was on a centralized content management system that enables content to be efficiently managed across locations and quickly updated.

implementation

Outdoor 49-inch displays have been installed, which catch customers' attention with current offers as soon as they arrive in the parking lot. Thanks to their size and brightness, they remain clearly visible even in daylight.

In the entrance area, portrait-oriented information displays enhance the communication. They highlight new products, promotions, and services and help customers find their way around the store.

A total of 16 display systems were installed and networked across seven locations. The system is controlled centrally via cloud-based content management software, which allows content to be efficiently managed and distributed. Mobile updates, such as those made via smartphone, are also possible at any time.

Results & Added Value

Beverage stores benefit from significantly simplified yet more effective customer communication. Promotions can be quickly updated and rolled out across all locations.

The customer experience begins even before entering the store and continues seamlessly inside. This creates additional sales opportunities and ensures a clear, modern presentation of the product range.

classification

The project demonstrates how digital signage can be strategically deployed in the food retail sector to streamline processes while enhancing customer engagement. Centralized control offers clear advantages in day-to-day operations, particularly for multi-store chains.
